Bait and Switch

Want to kill some fish? Rambo style? Well I found a game little game for you. "Bait and Switch" is perfect to release some steam. Just picture your worst swimming towards you... then enemy the shoot!
You start under water with a pistol and you "gotta kill them fish" if you want to get better weapons, new skills, perks and if you want to survive. Every level new waves of fish arrive with explosives, armor and more.

Fourms

On another note, we have "Fourms". This one was brought to me on twitter by Ethelyn. This game is about quick reactions and keeping it simple, the only button you need is RMB.

The game might seem relaxing at first but don't be fooled, a figure falls from the sky and the challenge is to change the falling figure so it fits the hole on the bottom. Click on the right or left to scroll through the figures. Seems easy?

Yet Another Zombie Defense

I stumbled upon this game when looking for a fun co-op game to play with friends. And this is the perfect fit for the type of game I was looking for. Simple idea, simple design awesome implementation. With a max of four players, this game puts you in a dark map where the only source of light you have is a street lamp and zombies span all around you!

This game works with waves of zombies. Once you kill them, zombies can drop money or powerups that double your speed or make you invincible and there's many more, these powerups will last for some seconds so don't rely on them to survive.

In between each wave you have a period of time to build your base and buy weapons. From electric fences to turrets with guns, rifles, shotguns, the blaster... and my favorite the chainsaw. Or if you want something that is more you're style like... a rocket launcher!!! At the end of some levels you're also going to receive experience points which you can spend on your character.

In each wave the zombies become stronger. More health points, damage and speeeed. My advice? Get ready to run because if you're like me those fences wont last long and you're going to end up by running across the level with a pistol cause all your other weapons ran out of ammo! 

 

 

 

 

 

But that's one of the strong points of the game, you're free to do what ever you want, you can be a maniac and just go for weapons or you can spend time planing your base with turrets in strategic places and a maze of fences for the zombies, just remember one thing... you cant escape faith... they'll get you!

Distance

For the crazy racing lovers!

"Distance" is a racing game built on some pretty good mechanics. This game was developed after the success of a game called "Nitronic Rush", a free to play that caught my eye a couple years ago. "Nitronic Rush" is a game developed by the same team as "Distance" with similar mechanics. This was, and still is, a free to play that got a lot of awards and fame.

Upon this success "Refract", the team responsible for the game, decided to redesign the game from zero and bring more mechanics, game modes and multiplayer. 

It's a racing game in a virtual city Tron style, and if that doesn't make you want to go try this right now, don't worry, I'll give more reasons... From lasers, obstacles appearing right in front of you, big spinning saws, wall riding, flying and more! All of this with the best soundtrack ever, it will keep you pumped and bring your adrenaline levels high!

Do you know those games where you start thinking "Ok, one more level and I'm done! I swear!"

This is one of those games, the only thing is... you're going to say that every time you complete a level and the only way you can stop is if there's no more levels to complete. The fast transitions between levels doesn't even let you think about quitting!

Besiege

This is the game that everyone was thinking about and finally someone made it!

"Besiege" is a Simulation/Sandbox/Medieval game that focus on the creativity of the player to achieve, most of the time, destruction and chaos.

There are so many different ways to achieve the objective and so many crazy machines/contraptions you can build. There's two ways to play this game, either you're really precise or... you go crazy! From catapults and flying flamethrowers, to a wall of cannons the possibilities are endless.

If you're like me when it comes to games and you love to find new ways to make a mess and cause destruction you must give it a try, "Besiege" encourages you to do that! 

It has realistic physics and amazing explosions. The silly details like the way sheep explode, and how the medieval knights act in various situations will make you laugh, and give the game that final touch.

The game is in early access on steam but it's already one of my favorites, it's going on my top favorites of 2015.

The Escapists

This look's cool!

The game is about living the life of an inmate. The objective of the game is to escape the prison with the maximum discretion. There are many ways to achieve freedom, from the simple running to the fence with a pair of clippers, to a more advanced escape where you can impersonate a prison guard to slide away... But be careful because not everyone is a friend in prison, other inmates might see you and call the guards! Or the guards might decide to check your cell block and find your plans!

Inside you're going to find many quests from the other inmates which will help you and speed up your escape. You also have a set of skills that you can improve by, for example, doing some workout.

There's so much more about this game that I could tell you, but I prefer to leave some surprises for you guys to find out.

I really like the style of the graphics!
Some say it's similar to "Pokemon", but I think it's really unique, and fits the game perfectly. 

"The Escapists" is one of those games that you think it's going to be small in terms of game play time, but you will be playing this for some time until you finally escape.

Super Amazing Quest

In Super Amazing Quest you play the role of a knight drawn to princesses in distress.

You have a thirst for quests and a brave heart! 

This game caught my attention due to its sense of humor, every quest is different and every character will give you a laugh. 

The pixel style gives you the nostalgia of old adventure games and the soundtrack will draw you in.

Perfect game for when you want to feel epic! But don't think it's an easy game, you will die a few times... 

But the game saves you progress and gives an option to continue from you checkpoint, upon your death.

Style points:
- Cool looks.
- Love the simplicity of the controls.
- Appropriate soundtrack.

Super Crate Box

This is an example of a perfect game for a 20 min break, if you just feel like you need to distract yourself for a bit.

It's a quick platformer/shooter with waves of enemies falling from the top of the level. If they reach the bottom of the level they get "angry" and change color to red, becoming faster.
There's only one life, if they touch you you're dead.

You change weapons by opening crates which will spawn in the level, and you unlock new levels and new characters with higher scores.

The score increases every time you open a crate, making use of the variety of weapons and using this as a way to keep you from staying with one weapon throughout the all game.

The difficulty increases with the score.

                           

Style points:
- Awesome pixel art style and sweet soundtrack.

By the way if your mouse ran out of batteries this is the game for you!
There's no need for mouse since "Super Crate Box" is keyboard only and the layout is pretty good.
